Born in 1994, Andrew was the second child in a family of three children in a village not far from D4K. Unfortunately, his parents divorced when he was very young and his mother soon married another man in the village. Both parents were alcoholics which greatly contributed to an abusive home environment. As a result Andrew and his brother spent more and more time loitering in the streets.
In 2004, Andrew’s mother succeeded in enrolling Andrew and his brother in public school. Divorced again by 2005, Andrew’s mother came to the center seeking assistance to keep her children in school. At D4K, she was offered a caretakers job, with housing for her and her boys. Unfortunately, she passed away later that same year.
Despite his mother's death, Andrew and his brother have remained part of the D4K community. Anderw is currently enrolled at Kilimanjaro Academy, a primary boarding school, and is in 7th grade.
He excels in reading and is a talented soccer player. He aspires to study history at Oxford University.
