Daniel Kimani Print E-mail

Daniel NBorn in 1993, Daniel Kimani was the second child in his family. When he was twelve his father died and life for Daniel's family became very difficult. To find food and try to earn money for the family, the brothers drifted away from school into the streets of Dagoretti Market. The boys spent two years in the streets foraging for food, securing temporary shelter and trying to keep one step ahead of the police who frequently harass and abuse homeless children.

D4K became acquainted with Daniel in 2006 and rescued him from the streets.  Since that time Daniel has shown himself to be a promising young man that shows constant concern for his brother, who remains in the streets.

Daniel is now studying at Mutuini Education Center. He is a very warm and lively boy who likes school very much. Daniel is also an excellent self-taught electrician, and his ultimate goal is to become a professional electrician in the future.
