Fredrick Bumbe (1988) was born in Uganda, where he was brought up by a single mother along with his two half brothers. In 2002, his mother and he came to Kenya where eventually poverty drove Fredrick into the streets where he lived with much difficulty for a year. Freddie spent his days searching for food and earning money through the sale of scrap metals and various petty jobs so that he could support himself. After a tough year, his older brother sought him out in the streets and referred him to our center where he arrived in 2003.
Fredrick is currently waiting patiently for more funding so that he might continue in his vocational schoolwork. He is three terms away from finishing and being certified as a mechanic. He is a skilled acrobat and enjoys handiwork and physical activities of all sorts.
