Born in 1998, Peter’s mother passed away when he was a young boy. He and his younger sister lived with their grandmother in the Mututu-ini village outside of Nairobi. His grandmother tried many small businesses to try to support her grandchildren. Many times they went without food and were unable to attend school for the lack of tuition fees.
In 2005, the grandmother’s plight was brought to the attention of D4K staff. That year, Peter came to live at D4K and his younger sister was able to move to Hekima, a girl’s orphanage not too far away.
Today, Peter attends Archbishop Ndingi Academy, a primary boarding school, where he is in 3rd grade.
His main ambition is to succeed and help others. He would like to be a cook in future.
