Born in 1995, Peter was the youngest of eight children born into his family. Peter started his education in the local primary school, but has forced to drop out after the death of his father. Now a single parent, Peter’s mom was no longer capable of feeding or taking care of her children. This resulted in Peter foraging in the streets of Dagoretti Market in search of food.

In 2005 at the age of 10, Peter was brought to D4K by one of his friends. D4K enrolled him in school, but later that year, Peter left D4K and went back to the marketplace.

Two years later (2007), Peter came back to D4K on his own. He ask to stay, re enroll in school and promised not to return to the marketplace streets.
